Lot Description
[WESTERN AMERICANA]. A group of 46 RPPCs & photographs of the Dakotas and the West.

The lot is comprised of the following: approx. 45 real photo postcards, 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 in., or smaller, some unused, and 1 photograph, 3 1/2 x 6 in., affixed to black paper (likely removed from album). Many of the scenes are identified in the negative. 

Highlighted titles/scenes include: Flooding in Waynoka, OK. -- A church in Colome, SD. -- Main Street, Ambrose, ND. -- Bird's-eye view of Pryor Creek, Indian Territory. -- Masonic Cave, Volcano, CA, "Where the first five meeting were held." -- Covered wagons stopped outside businesses in Price, UT. -- Several views of towns and businesses in North Dakota and South Dakota, such as Main Street, Minot, ND. -- View of women and a man posed outside the Montrose Herald building, Bozeman, MT. -- Bird's-eye view of Williston, ND. -- Grain elevators in North Dakota and South Dakota. -- Parade in Yankton, SD. -- View of the second fire at Philip, SD, May 1909. -- World's only Corn Palace, Mitchell, SD, 1930. -- "Train Time" at El Dorado Springs, ND. -- Indian Industrial School, Pierre, SD. -- "Mother Indian would not have her picture taken," showing a group of Native Americans seated outside a drug store, Murdo, SD. 

Together, 46 real photo postcards and photograph. Condition generally good to very good. Some with edge wear, toning, and album residue to verso.
