Lot Description
[CALIFORNIA]. Approx. 75 RPPCs and photographs of San Francisco and the Bay Area. Early 20th century

Approx. 69 real photo postcards, 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 in., or smaller, many unused, and 6 silver gelatin photographs, 3 3/8 x 5 3/8 in., or smaller, documenting landmarks, landscapes, and subjects local to San Francisco, CA. Many of the scenes are identified in the negative. 

Highlighted titles/scenes include: Fisherman's Wharf. -- View of Montgomery Street, North from Market, credited to Waters & Co. -- Claus Spreckels building. -- Powell Street Cable Car. -- 2 views of Mr. & Mrs. Wong Sun Yue Clemens (ink identified on images), incl. image of the couple taken inside what is presumably their shop. -- Ferry Building. -- Silver gelatin photograph of the fleet at San Francisco Bay, 6 April 1925 (not RPCC). -- Street scene, with Logeman Photography shop visible in the image. -- Several images of the Worlds' Fair, incl. buildings and sculpture on display. Notable buildings include the Court of Four Seasons, Palace of Horticulture, the Fine Arts Palace, and the China Exhibit Building. -- Mt. Rubidoux. -- The Cliff House. -- Silver gelatin photograph of Arion, 2 yr. old, trotting at Stockton, CA, 10 November 1891, credited to Frank G. Warner (not RPPC). -- Beach and bay scenes. -- The ship Denmark passing under the Golden Gate Bridge.  

Together, approx. 75 images, mostly real photo postcards. Condition generally good to very good. Some with edge wear, toning, and album residue to verso.
