[WESTERN AMERICANA -- CALIFORNIA]. 2 photographs, one featuring a horse-drawn parade float. 

GARDEN CITY PHOTO CO., photographers. Photograph of a horse-drawn parade float. Los Angeles, California. 7 1/2 x 4 1/2 in. silver gelatin photograph on 10 1/8 x 7 in. cardstock mount (significant toning to parts of image, mat with dampstaining, spotting, and wear to edges and corners). Garden City Photo Co. blindstamp to mount recto, imprint to verso. Image features two men riding atop a horse-drawn wagon advertising for various companies including a boot and shoe company, a druggist, and a paint store or supplier.

[With:] WEITZ, Hugo, photographer. Outdoor photograph of a Civil War veteran's group in California. San Francisco, CA. 9 5/8 x 7 3/8 in. silver gelatin photograph on 11 3/4 x 9 3/4 in. cardstock mount (toning, some areas of loss, surface scratching, chipping to edges and corners of mount, paper and adhesive residue to mount verso). Weitz's imprint to mount recto. A large group of veterans stand in rows, wearing their medals and insignia. Some differently dressed, long-haired men stand at the back of the group, perhaps wearing uniforms or costumes of some sort.
