Lot Description
[WWII]. Signatures of 35 pilots from the Doolittle Raid, incl. General Doolittle.
Binder containing articles, ephemera, modern photography, correspondence, and signatures related to Doolittle's Raid. The Doolittle Raid of 18 April 1942 was the first US air operation in Japan. Though damage to Tokyo and other regions was relatively small, the raid served as a morale boost to the American public and American soldiers. Included in the lot are signatures from participants in Doolittle's Raid, including multiple signatures from Lt. Col. (later General) James H. Doolittle ("J.H. Doolittle"), MOH recipient and leader of the raid, as well as Travis Hoover, Edward Saylor, Tom Griffin, H.A. Sessler, E.W. Holstrom, Horace E. Crouch, Hank Potter, Griffith Williams, and more.
