Large lot housed in 4 separate binders featuring signed ephemera relating to World War II accompanied by companion documentation such as research, articles, etc.
Binder 1 features signatures, letters, personal recollections of aviators, and research material associated with WWII aviators and fighter aces including Lt. Richard E. Smith, Lt. General Hugh M. Elwood, Lt. Col. Bill King, Capt. Louis Scribner, Lt. Col. Joseph T. McKeon, Col. Eugene P. Roberts, Col. Eugene O'Neill, and many more.
Binder 2 features signatures and research materials predominantly related to Navy Cross recipient USN Commander Marvin E. Adams of Bombing Squadron 20, attached to the USS Enterprise as a pilot of a carrier-based Navy Dive Bomber. Binder includes approximately 30 images (copies), signatures, news articles, etc.
Binder 3 features material associated with B. James George, 96th Bomb Group, 3rd Wing, 8th Air Force which flew B-17 Flying Fortresses. The 96th received two Distinguished Unit Citations. This binder also features a copy photograph signed by Carl S. Muscarello, a former WWII submarine tender who claimed to be the sailor immortalized in Alfred Eisenstaedt's historic Life magazine photograph of a sailor kissing a nurse on V-J Day.
Binder 4 features articles, correspondence, research, and signatures related to the crew of the SKNAPPY, 492nd Bomb Group, 856th Bomb Squadron.
