[NATIVE AMERICANS]. 125 photographs of Southwestern scenery, dwellings, and Native Americans.
54 silver gelatin photographs mounted recto/verso on 7 disbound album pages. The photographs measure approx. 3 1/2 x 5 in., or smaller, and appear to document people living or traveling through the Southwestern United States (toning and some fading to prints). Several images of a Native American ceremony or parade or included as well as snapshots of a Caucasian family posed before rugged, rocky landscapes and rock formations typical of the southwest.
[With:] 7 silver gelatin photographs, 4 3/4 x 3 3/4 in., of Native Americans from the Southwestern US and their dwellings (album residue on verso of each print).
[With:] Hand-colored photograph of a Taos church, by Neville, early 20th century. 6 1/2 x 4 3/4 in. silver gelatin photograph. -- Photograph of "Delight Makers, Pueblo Indians" (penciled inscription on verso). 4 x 5 in. silver gelatin photograph on cardstock mount (fading to print). -- Real photo postcard of a grave site, Pecos, NM. -- 4 silver gelatin photographs, 6 1/2 x 4 1/4 in., of Arizona, including the School at Toreva and Keams Canyon.
[Also with:] 57 silver gelatin photographs, 5 7/8 x 3 1/2 in., or smaller, providing informal snapshots of Native American subjects and locations, many taken in Taos and other locations in New Mexico (condition generally very good).
