Four Fragments/Lengths of Printed Textiles, Late 18th - Early 19th Century - One is Toile de Jouy

THE FIRST (Top left, first image)
Fragment of cotton textile printed with madder (red) dye in a pictorial scene titled "Grandfather's Farm". The fabric piece runs from selvage to selvage and there are fragments of thread that remain from hand-sewn seams at both selvage. Additionally, there are diagonal lines of hand-stitching remnants that suggest this piece may has been quilted. There is also a sign that this piece may have been padded as there is a small sample of padding that remains stitched to the backside. The strength of the madder dye various throughout the fragment and is strongest along the selvage edges where the fabric was within a seam. The museum label on the Tyvek folder holding the fabric reads:

THE SECOND (Bottom left, first image)
Fragment of cotton textile printed with red (madder?) dye in a pictorial scene of people, buildings, animals, and fountains. The piece is hand-stitched to a backing around all edges. The fragment shows numerous old repairs of varying quality. A museum accession number is still attached to the backside mounting fabric.

THE THIRD  
Fragment of cotton textile printed with madder dye in a pictorial scene with people, buildings, farm equipment, animals, and tress. The panel runs from selvage to selvage and has a cut edged on the bottom that shows a decorative finish. Additionally, there are diagonal lines of hand-stitching remnants that suggest this piece may have been quilted. The madder dye is fairly even throughout. The bottom hem of the piece has a specific cut shape that may suggest how this piece was used. The museum label on the Tyvek folder holding this fabric reads:

THE FOURTH (Far right, first image)
Fragment of cotton textile printed with madder dye in a pictorial scene titled "Rousseau's Tomb". The fabric piece runs from the selvage edge on the right to a cut edged on the left. The bottom edge shows a decorative cut that suggests the piece was used for window dressings.
