[CIVIL WAR]. 2 cased portraits of non-commissioned officers, including an identified corporal.
Ninth plate ambrotype portrait of an identified corporal, Edward Goodwin, wearing a mounted services coat and posing before a scenic painted backdrop. (Some light surface punctures from mat opening and few small surface scratches with loss; unsealed.) Housed in a pressed paper case (surface wear with loss, spine loose). Inscribed scrap of paper behind image, executed partly in pencil and partly in ink, reads, "Uncle Edward Goodwin." -- Sixth plate tintype portrait of a Union infantry sergeant holding an 1840 NCO sword across his lap. (Image quite dark, with grainy, matte surface; unsealed.) Housed in a pressed paper case (spine reinforced). -- Together, a pair of images of non-commissioned officers.
