Lot Description
[CIVIL WAR - LATE INDIAN WARS]. 5 items, incl. pattern 1864 leather belt and kepis.

Pattern 1864, Civil War-period leather belt with maker's mark that appears to read, "Young & Co.," of Newark, NJ, approx. 39 in. long. Lacking belt buckle (wear consistent with age and use). -- Leather cartridge box sling, approx. 56 1/2 in. long (some cracking to leather, wear consistent with age and use). -- 2 kepis, first with interior maker's mark of Simmons & Co., Boston (holes throughout, stitched repairs to kepi). Second lacking a maker's mark, with chinstrap partially attached on one side (wear to cloth interior, which is present but almost fully detached, stitched repairs to cap, scratches in visor). -- 2 tin cups, 4 3/4 in. or smaller, ca late 19th century, one likely dating from the late Indian Wars (surface wear and oxidation, wear consistent with age and use). -- Reproduction leather belt and metal tool/implement.
