Item features an internal magazine, split barrel band, bayonet lug forend, triple stacking swivels, and a smooth trapdoor buttplate void of contents. Markings include U.S./SPRINGFIELD/ARMORY/MODEL 1903/263273 to receiver in small serif letters. Barrel is marked SA/{flaming bomb}/6-07. Bolt safety and magazine cut off are marked with non-serif letters. Stock is marked with a boxed J.F.C James F. Coyle inspector cartouche on left side of wrist, along with circle P proof to bottom of wrist, and 27 to heel of comb. Item possibly assembled from pre-WWI parts.
