SMITH followed by an engraved vignette of Quail to the left side and a swimming duck on the right. Light border and Arabesque scrollwork embellishes the frame components. Water tables are struck with the two-line patent marking PAT'D JULY 18-86/PAT'D OCT. 5-86. A further patent mark on the underside of the forend reads PAT'D JULY 28, 1901. Barrels are engraved within a banner beside the dollshead HUNTER ARMS CO FULTON. N.Y. Both barrels display the steel manufacturer marking for Crown Steel. The initials EL are carved into the toe of the stock behind the tang. Serial numbers match. Stock is without buttplate.
