Lot Description
[NATIVE AMERICANS]. 4 CDVs of Cheyenne & Comanche subjects by Cosand & Miller, Caldwell, KS.

4 CDVs by Cosand & Mosser of Caldwell, Kansas, two of which include their studio imprint on mount verso. The remaining two CDVs lack their studio imprint.

Subjects include: Comanche mother with infant in cradleboard, studio imprint on verso (toning, some light staining on verso). -- Cheyenne tribal policeman, lacks studio imprint (toning, some fading to print). -- Two men seated, one of which is believed to be Broken Cup, a Cheyenne or Arapaho scout, studio imprint on verso (surface abrasion near top left corner of print, residue and wear to margins). [Fort Reno?, ca early 1880s]. -- Seated portrait of a young Cheyenne woman, lacks studio imprint (light fading to print). It has been suggested that the subject may be Julia Bent, who attended the Carlisle Indian School during the 1880s, but this identification cannot be confirmed. Another possible identification is Standing Out Woman, George Bent's fourth wife.

Together, 4 CDVs.
