Relic Condition Colt Model 1860 Army Revolver

.44 Caliber. 8" barrel length. SN: 140086. (Mfg. Ca 1863) Blued and casehardened metal finish with brass triggerguard and walnut grips. Single action percussion revolver with six-shot cylinder and mounting German silver front sight. The barrel retains a legible address mark reading -ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA-, and the left frame displays clear COLTS/PATENT marking. Only the serial number on the triggerguard remains fully legible, and all iron and steel components show signs of pitting and aggressive cleaning. The last digits of the cylinder do not match the front gripstrap. There is a single martial inspector's H initial behind the triggerguard. Multiple parts missing including: loading lever, wedge pin, wedge pin screw head, trigger screw, and hammer screw.

Condition Report

Relic. Bore is Dark with patina and some patched oxidation and strong rifling. The external metal finish shows pitting overall with patched brown patina forming in places. The outer surfaces all show a gray color from aggressive cleaning. The grips have receded from the gripstraps. Action is non functional.
