** Colt Model 1902 Philippine Constabulary Revolver
Philippine–American War

.45 LC. 6" barrel length. SN: 46113 (mfg. ca.1900). Blued metal finish with Rampant Colt logo hardrubber grips, long flute cylinder, birdshead grips, lanyard loop to butt, and enlarged trigger and triggerguard. Double action loading gate revolver with martial inspection markings. Barrel marked with the single line manufacturer address COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A., and a caliber mark on the left barrel reading 45 COLT. Colt's {Rampant Colt} within a circle mark appears on the left frame. The triggerguard, cylinder, and left frame both show the  R.A.C. markings of Rinaldo A. Carr. The J.T.T. mark of John Taliaferro Thompson is struck on the right frame above the grips, with the date mark 1902 between the grip and triggerguard. The right frame displays the U.S. stamp. The serial numbers match on the frame, loading gate, and cylinder. Further martial inspection initials include K to barrel and front of ejector rod housing, and P to cylinder and barrel. Handguns of this pattern were manufactured specifically for use by the Philippine Constabulary in the latter stages of the Philippine-American War.

Condition Report

Good. Bore is Frosty with some firing wear and strong rifling. The metal finish is an olive patina overall with traces of blue remaining in the seams of the barrel and around the edges of the ejector rod housing. The grips are worn down with the checkering flattened over much of their surface and most details washed out of the logos. The action times and indexes correctly in single and double action.
