Lot Description
** Finnish Marked Carl Gustafs Model 1896 Swedish Mauser Rifle Manufactured 1919
6.5x55mm. 19.1" barrel length. SN: 463380. Blued metal finish with polished bolt and mounting a flat wrist walnut stock with half length upper handguard. Bolt action repeating rifle fed by stripper clip charged internal magazine. Receiver is marked with {Crown/CG monogram}/CARL GUSTAFS STADS/ GEVARSFAKTORI./1919. and the rifle shows scattered {Crown} inspection stamps to all major components along with the last three digits of the serial number. A boxed {SA} marking appears on the top of the receiver near the manufacturer mark, indicating it was accepted into Finnish service. The tang of the buttplate features the additional marking KRT/231. Rifle mounts the brass compensation plate on the right receiver, and the standard adjustable rear leaf with front post sights. Comes with a cleaning rod and leather sling.

Condition Report
Good to Fine. Bore is Very Bright with crisp rifling throughout. The blued finish shows some thinning and streaks near the muzzle and on the barrel bands, with some brown patina forming in the losses. Some abrasions on the triggerguard and magazine floorplate show likewise. The bolt handle is taking on a gray patina with some mottled gray forming over the cocking piece. Stock shows scattered mars and handling wear, and some discolored spots.
