** Pre-War Mauser Banner K98k Rifle Dated 1934
World War II

7.92x57mm. 24" barrel length. SN: 72046. Blued military finish. Walnut stock has a plain semi pistol grip and forearm with single barrel band and handguard. Bolt action rifle with adjustable tangent notch rear sight and blade front sight. Item features an internal box magazine, bayonet lug forend, and double sling swivels. Markings include a Mauser banner logo/1934 date to receiver ring. Left side of receiver ring is marked with four imperial {crown}/G, B, U, and N German proofs and serial number followed by a diamond. Barrel is marked Ch.50 to right side and has serial number followed by a diamond on left side. Receiver cutaway is marked MAUSER-WERKE A.G. OBENDORF AN on left side, and serial numbers are matching to all parts. Item is without cleaning rod, and is missing barrel band retainer on right side.

Condition Report

Good. Bore is bright. Finish has some scattered losses, as well as scattered small clusters and peppered pit marks scattered overall to metal. Wood stock possibly sanded at some point, no evidence of cartouche.
