Short recoil operated and toggle locked striker action autoloading pistol fed by detachable single stack magazines. The toggle link shows the byf stamp indicating it was manufactured initially by Mauser, and has a date mark of 42 on the barrel extension indicating it was originally manufactured in 1942. The lower frame and the upper frame components show distinct series with all the frame components serial numbers displaying matching 23 number markings, while the toggle assembly, barrel, and barrel extension numbers are numbered 3346 with small parts showing matching 46 marks. The grip panels are numbered 40 and feature Crowned Gothic letter marks indicative of earlier manufacture, while the metal parts show World War II vintage marks. These include the {WWII German Eagle} stamp on the barrel, breechblock, and barrel extension, and two {Eagle/135} Waffenampt markings on the barrel extension. The safety GESICHERT mark and loading indicator GELADEN markings are both present. The firing pin is not numbered. Comes with one blued and aluminum baseplug magazine numbered 3027u.
Good. Bore is Dark with light pitting throughout and a brown patina. Item shows edgewear and mars with the toggle assembly finish having worn down on the barrel and action surfaces. The rear frame has a plum color to the bluing suggesting it has been touched up. Gripstraps are a brown patina, and the grips show dark discolorations overall. Checkering has worn flat on the left panel at the butt. The magazine has a mottled brown patina forming through the bluing, and the follower moves with difficulty.
