Lot Description
Lot of 5 WWII Fighting Knives including: USN Mark I, Sykes Fairbairn, USMC Ka-Bar, Phillippine Punal, Czech bayonet, and Theater Knife
1.) 5.25" blade length. 10.5" overall with scabbard. Single edged clip point fighting knife with synthetic spacers at the pommel and guard and a gray Parkerized finish overall. Blade marked U.S.N./MARK I to the left ricasso and RH 35 surrounding {PAL} company logo to the right. Comes with gray fiber scabbard marked U.S.N./MK. 1 to the outer throat and NORD-8114/B.M. Co. 1/6 vp to reverse side.

2.) 6.75" blade length. 13.6" overall with scabbard. Double edged spearpoint tipped dagger with medial ridge blade, disc guard, and a cast aluminum hilt. The grips are consistent with the later Mark 3 Sykes Fairbairn, and show a number 2 molded into the pommel. The guard has been stamped ENGLAND and shows no broad arrow marks. Comes in a black leather scabbard with blackened brass drag and textile retaining loop.

3.) 7.8" blade length. 13" overall with leather scabbard. Single edge clip point knife with fullered blade, disc guard, and round flat pommel. The ricasso is marked KA-BAR on the left side and USMC on the right. Hilt is composed of leather segments, and the sheath is stitched leather with reinforcing staples. Scabbard is unsigned.

4.) 8.125" blade length. 13.4" overall with scabbard. Single edge clip point knife with fullered blade, alloy pommel cap and guard, and spacers composed of blue and white synthetic materials with brass spacers. The left blade is struck with the HS logo on the left ricasso, and serrated texturing on the back of the blade. Comes with leather sheath with belt loop and geometric tooled design.

5.) 8.5" blade length. 13.675" overall with scabbard and hilt. Single edged spearpoint tip knife with brass disc guard and socket attaching a polished horn pistol grip handle. Item is unsigned and comes in a wood scabbard with woven reed decorated throat.

Condition Report
1.) Very Good. Edge is without bites and the blade retains most of the gray finish with some insertion scratches. Pommel and guard likewise retain much of their finish. The grips show some discolorations and handling mars. Throat has some scattered discolorations, and the finish on the snaps has begun to wear down.

2.) Very Good. Item retains the black finish over much of the blade with two small bites along the edge. The finish shows some flaking on the edges of the guard  and has worn down on the outer surfaces of the hilt. Scabbard mounting loop is cracked with some abrasions and mars. The drag has some scuffs and abrasions. Textile loop is fraying on the edges.

3.) Fair to Good. Blade shows polishing lines from rough sharpening with some small bites along the edge near the tip. Blade finish is primarily mottled gray patina with some original Parkerized finish near the hilt. Grips show some handling wear, mars, and discolorations overall. The guard shows a brown patina forming, as does the pommel. The sheath shows some discolorations overall, some paint flecks, and stains. The fastening strap is cracking. Some further flecks of white paint to the hilt.

4.) Good. Blade is bright with some gray mottling near the ends and some small bites along the edge. The grips show some handling wear, mars, and tarnish to the brass pieces. Sheath shows some light abrasions on the edges and a split to the retaining loop that shows some adhesive residue from an attempted repair.

5.) Good. Blade is a mottled gray patina with brown forming near the hilt and some small bites along the edge. The guard displays a light tarnish, and the handle shows some handling wear, scratches, and a crack below the tang. The scabbard has splits forming along both edges with some cracking to the woven reeds and scattered mars overall.
