9mm Para. 3.9" barrel length. SN: 5471l. Blued metal finish to all parts with a fire blued extractor and mounting checkered walnut grips. Short recoil operated striker action autoloading pistol using the toggle locking principle. The toggle link displays the S/42 mark indicative of Mauser production, and the barrel extension is dated 1938. The serial numbers match on the major parts, but the handgun mounts a replaced trigger bar, bolt hold open, and grips. Martial markings including the {WWII German Eagle} and two weak Waffenampt stamps appear on the right barrel extension. The barrel itself is commercial, and shows the {Crown/N} commercial proof. A weak Police sunburst mark appears on the left frame below the sideplate. The American Historical Foundation ordered multiple runs of embellished Lugers, like this one, that were put together using genuine Luger pistols with modern embellishments. Item features Oak Leaf scrollwork over a beaded ground along all edges of the frame, barrel extension, the gripstraps, and around the muzzle. The number 5 of 100 has been inlaid in the front gripstrap in gold. Item comes with a World War II production Luger holster with the maker mark reading GEBRUDER KLINGE/DRESDEN/1938 above the {Eagle/WaA142} Waffenampt stamp. Included in the holster are an unmarked multitool, two aluminum baseplug magazines: one a post war Haenel magazine with a polished baseplug, the other is WWII production and bears the serial number 1043/m over an {Eagle/83} Waffenampt.
