Lot Description
** 1910 Production Colt Single Action Army marked Ken S French on the Butt

.45 LC. 5.5" barrel length. SN: 314021. (Mfg. ca.1910) Blued metal finish overall with polished hammer flanks and mounting varnished walnut grips, and using blackpowder rifling. Single action loading-gate revolver with spring detent retained cylinder pin and kidney shaped ejector rod head. The markings include the two line patent mark reading PAT SEPT 19 1871./JULY 2 72 JAN. 19. 75. followed by the {Rampant Colt} within a circle marking on the left frame. Triggerguard displays the VP monogram proof mark and W initial. Barrel address is in a single line reading COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO/HARTFORD CT. U.S.A. The cylinder is replaced and shows a non circled {Rampant Colt} to the rear surface and serial number 196 on the front. Barrel is a replacement that is serial numbered 3062 beneath the ejector rod housing, and shows martial inspection markings including the P initial and J.T.C. initials of John T. Cleveland. No further marital markings are visible. The name Ken S. French has been weakly struck into the butt by hand using punch marks.

Condition Report

Very Good. Bore is Bright with some weakness to the rifling and dust throughout. The metal finish on the barrel and the edges of the grips has faded to gray patina with bluing stronger over the frame and hammer. The grips are worn down with the edges of the frame showing proud and a raised granular texture overall. The edges of the butt are worn down. Action times and indexes correctly.
