Full Stock Kentucky Long Rifle with Peep Sight by H. McClallen of New York

About .44 caliber. 39.5" octagonal barrel length. SN: NSN. Browned metal finish. Curly maple stock has hand cut checkering to curved Roman nose grip, with carved cheek rest to left side. Percussion rifle with primitive peep sight mounted to wrist, notch rear sight, and low profile blade front sight. Item features seven groove rifling, as well as a brass patchbox on left side that is pierced six times and appears to have a bird's head finial. Patchbox cover has a spring loaded latch that is opened by pressing on toe of buttplate. Barrel is partially marked H. MCCLALLEN twice in block letters to top flat, with one of signatures being inverted. Lockplate is marked with simple scroll and dash engravings, surrounding H.W. DELAVAN/& CO. marks to center. Includes a heavy ramrod that appears to be made from a single piece of iron.
