**Rebuilt Springfield Armory M1 Garand Rifle with Locking Bar Sight, Un-Cut Op Rod and 1942 Dated Barrel
World War II
.30-06. 24" barrel length. SN: 455241. Parkerized metal finish overall mounting walnut semi-pistol grip stock and locking bar rear aperture with partially hooded front blade sights. Long-stroke piston driven semi-automatic rifle fed by an internal box magazine charged with en bloc clips. The receiver is struck U.S. RIFLE/CAL. .30 M1/SPRINGFIELD/ARMORY followed by the serial number. Item shows drawing numbers and revisions appropriate for a 1942 produced M1 Garand. Drawing number to the receiver reads D28291-14SA with the hammer struck C46008-2 SA. Un-cut operating rod reads D35382 3 SA, while the bolt reads D28287-12SA/RE5B, with the heat number suggesting manufacture in March to July of 1942. Barrel date mark reads S-A-1-1-42. Item mounts a Springfield type 2B pattern stock that shows signs of sanding and refinishing at some point. There are weak AA markings struck into the wrist comprising an incomplete rebuild mark that has been sanded down. A rack number 26 has been applied to the top of the wrist. The left receiver has been import marked CENTURY/ARMS INC/ST ALBANS/VT. Muzzle erosion reading of 6, throat of just under 4.

Condition Report
Good to Very Good as refinished. Bore is Frosty with light pitting throughout. External metal finish shows some red residue to the bayonet lug and gas cylinder, few scattered light scratches. Item shows some light internal cycling wear. Stock show handling wear and mars with a nick to the left forend and an abrasion to the right. Upper handguard is cracked for 2.5 inches running from the forward end of the wood. All stock markings are weak, suggesting refinish. Bore shows a muzzle erosion reading of 6 with 4 at the throat.
