Lot Description
** Rare Pre-WWII RZM Marked Walther PPK Pistol in Holster
World War II
.32 ACP. 3.3" barrel length. SN: 827463 (mfg. ca.1935). Polished blued metal finish with polished barrel and mounting one-piece WALTHER synthetic multicolor grips. Simple blowback operated DA/SA autoloading pistol fed by detachable single-stack magazines. Item mounts fixed low profile sights atop a matted barrel rib, along with the 90 degree safety typical of early Walther PP pattern handguns. Markings include WALTHER banner to the left slide followed by Waffenfabrik Walther, Zella-Mehlis (Thur.)/Walther's Patent Cal. 7,65 m/m followed by Mod.PPK and the RZM logo, indicating it was inspected by the Reichszeugmeistere of the NSDAP. The markings on the handgun are all correct for an RZM pistol from this block, and include: the {Crown/N} commercial proof markings on the slide, right breech, and the right muzzle, and the last three digits of the serial number have been scratched into the inside of the slide opposite the ejection port, as is appropriate for RZM marked Walthers. Pistol is accompanied by one WALTHER banner marked magazine with multicolor finger rest floorplate. Further, it comes in a non factory marked leather holster that has had the names BUCKS and MILLER scratched into the belt loop.

These handguns were intended for issue to high ranking members of the government of the "Third Reich". RZM marked pistols were produced between serial number 820,000 and 845,000, placing this into the earlier bock of firearms.
