Lot Description

Contemporary Composite Flintlock Pistol

.60 Caliber. 10.25" barrel length. SN: NSN. Brown patina overall with octagonal to round barrel set in a walnut stock with brass triggerguard and trigger, and mounting a brass blade front sight. Single shot flintlock pistol with pinned full length stock and unsigned lockplate. Triggerguard is engraved with an acorn motif at its finial, and the pistol comes with a brass tipped wood ramrod of modern construction. Lockplate has a mix of new and antique parts with the cutout showing chisel marks from resizing to fit the current lockplate. Forward lockplate screw fails to engage threads.

Condition Report

Good. Bore is dark with patina and oxidation throughout. Item shows a mottled brown patina to all iron parts with some tarnish to triggerguard. Latter component fits proud of the stock. Stock exhibits some signs of sanding with scattered chips, light mars, and handling wear. Action is functional.
