A Roman Marble Head of Eros
Circa Second Half of 2nd Century A.D.
Height 6 inches (15 cm).
Property from the Collection of William Coles, Arizona
Provenance:
Art Market, London, 1950s-1960s; where acquired by the current owner.
Condition Report
Intact as preserved. Minor loss to the tip of the nose. Moderate holes and chips around the face and head. Root marks throughout. Glossy surface with incrustation and dark brown patination to the tip of the diadem. Other light brown patination present overall. Holes and chips around the head. No obvious signs of restoration. Fine attractive condition.
