Lot Description
Silver patent lever pocket watch engraved with cavalry scenes.
2 in. diam. patent lever pocket watch with coin silver hunter case (cracks to dial with loose cover glass, some tarnishing throughout, not in running condition). Obverse features an engraved scene showing a Union cavalryman sweeping in front of his tent. Reverse features engraved scene showing a mounted soldier on a rearing horse. Dial marked for Robert Roskell, Liverpool, England. Front and rear cover interiors stamped with serial number "1393." Cuvette engraved, "Patent Lever / Full Jewelled / Robt Roskell / Liverpool." Attached to the case ring is a silver 3-strand watch chain. Housed in a red and blue velvet-lined wooden box containing two keys and detached stem.
