Landing at Memphis 1863. 7 3/8 x 5 1/8 in. oval albumen (overexposed, soft clarity); on 10 x 8 1/4 in. cardstock mount (spotting and dampstain to upper edge). Captioned in ink to mount recto. A rather languid scene along the banks of the muddy Mississippi. In the background is an unidentified double-stack sternwheeler tied up to the city's wharf below a row of long wooden freight warehouses. Several open barges are seen in the foreground.

[With:] Untitled image of a double-stack sternwheeler at dock. 7 3/8 x 5 1/8 in. oval albumen (overexposed, soft clarity); on 10 x 8 1/4 in. cardstock mount (spotting to mount, brown stains to lower edge).
