5 different views of Admiral Andrew Hull Foote, including a vignette lithographed CDV, 2 CDVS, both copy shots, providing standing views of Foote, one credited to J.F. Ryder, Cleveland, OH, the other credited to Charles D. Fredricks, New York, a 2 1/8 x 3 1/4 in. albumen photograph of Foote on 5 x 7 in. paper mount further affixed to 7 3/4 x 11 in. page, and a CDV featuring a group copy shot with Admiral Foote seated between two standing officers (l. Commander Sidney S. Lee, r. Adm. Porter) with imprint of Charles D. Fredricks &. Co., New York. This pre-war view was taken in 1860 when the three officers served as official escort to the newly established Japanese Embassy.

[With:] Immediate post-war CDV providing the familiar view of the exalted David Farragut expressing a satisfied countenance, wearing the stripes of a full admiral by C.D. Fredericks, New York (sharp with rounded corners). For his wartime exploits Admiral Farragut became the first flag officer of the US Navy to rank as full admiral on 26 July 1866.

[With:] 2 x 3 1/2 in. lithograph of Admiral David Dixon Porter (1813-1891) within a 5 x 7 1/2 in. paper mount with triple gilded border. Taken from a unknown period compilation of senior officers as indicated by the printed gold "70" page number upper right.
