Lot Description
[CIVIL WAR]. A group of 6 CDVs of unidentified naval officers, incl. 2 with Brown Water Navy imprints, comprising: 

CDV, likely a Midshipman armed with sword. Boston, MA: Black. The plain cuffs are correct under the 1862 Regulations however midshipmen were not authorized shoulder straps as this man is wearing. -- CDV, likely a sword armed Assistant Paymaster (1864 Regulations). Norwalk, CT: Whitney & Beckwith (bottom edge of mount trimmed). -- A Midshipman with plain frock coat (1862 Regulations). Uncredited. -- A copy shot of a Warrant Officer (boatswain, gunner, carpenter, sailmaker) under the 1852 Regulations. Boston, MA: Mrs. Stuart. An unusual portrait credited to a female photographer, with revenue stamp removed. -- CDV of an Ensign (1862 Regulations). Cincinnati, OH: M.J. Dennis (top and bottom edges of print and mount trimmed). -- CDV of an older Ensign (1862 Regulations). Mound City, IL: J.B. Leonard. With orange two-cent revenue stamp.

Together, 6 CDVs, 2 1/4 x 3 1/2 in., or smaller, on cardstock mounts. Condition generally very good unless otherwise noted.
