[WORLD WAR I]. 2nd Pennsylvania Field Artillery oversize panorama photograph. Camp Stewart, El Paso, TX, 1916.
57 1/2 x 8 3/4 in. albumen photograph (some fading, toning); matted and framed (spotting to mat, wear to frame edges). Titled in negative: "2nd Pennsylvania Field Artillery / Col. H.D. Turner - Commanding / Camp Stewart - El Paso, Tex. / 1916.
The regiment, captured from an elevation on horseback and arranged in columns. The regimental band is at the far left, wagon trains, and the commanding officers are gathered at right. Camp Stewart was established by General Pershing in 1916 to defend the United States-Mexico border against raids from Pancho Villa's Mexican Revolutionary armies.
