No. III To Wm. L. May, Esq. [Jacksonville, IL]: [Illinois Patriot]., [1834]. 11 3/4 x 15 5/8 in. broadside (toned, short marginal chips and tears).
An anonymously penned attack against Jacksonian candidate William L. May in the hotly contested Congressional election against Benjamin Mills. His conduct during the Black Hawk War is examined and is accused of killing "a Dead Indian." RARE: OCLC locates only 1 copy held at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library. Byrd 188, records 2 copies at the Chicago Historical Society and the Illinois State Historical Society.
