This dress is a rare example of early ready-to-wear from Givenchy in Spring/Summer 1957. “In 1954, Hubert de Givenchy was the first couturier to launch a ready-to-wear collection – called GIVENCHY UNIVERSITE - produced in Paris on machines imported from the US”.
Black silk dress printed with all-over floral design and cut with a square neckline, short sleeves, and seams extending from the shoulders to the waist with pleating details. The dress is unlined and is fininshed with a side zip.
