[FRANKLIN, Benjamin (1706-1790)] The Works of Dr. Benjamin Franklin. Consisting of Essays, Humorous, Moral, and Literary, with His Life, Written By Himself. New York: George G. Sickels, 1830.
 
12mo. Engraved title and frontispiece. (Heavy spotting.) Original publisher's boards (toned, repair to joints and spine reinforced with adhesive); modern vellum box. Provenance: Edmund Throckmorton (ownership signature). 
 
A collected copy of Franklin's essays. The title page bears the 1830 publication date, the engraved title bears 1829, and the cover shows 1828 with the publisher's advertisement to the rear board. RARE: online records indicate only 1 copy sold at auction (noted as 1828). 
 
[With:] Acts Passed at the First Session of the Sixth Congress of the United States of America. Begun and Held at the City of Philadelphia...on Monday the Second of December, in the Year M,DCC,XCIX. Philadelphia: Richard Folwell, ca 1800. 8vo. (Toned.) Contemporary calf, rebacked with modern tan calf, original black gilt morocco spine label laid down (scuffing). RARE: OCLC locates 3 copies.
