Seated portrait of an older woman wearing a head scarf. (Heavy deterioration to plate, tarnishing to edges, oxidation to mat and preserver; partially resealed.) Housed in a fully separated pressed paper case (separated at spine, additional separation and loss to bottom edge of case bottom). Velvet pad marked for Whitehurst Galleries, with multiple locations listed. Behind image is a lock of hair. -- Seated portrait of a young lady wearing a large lace shawl and gold-highlighted jewelry. (Tarnishing to edges, spotting throughout plate, no preserver present.) Housed in a half pressed paper case (surface wear). -- And 7 other portraits, most not in full cases. -- Together, 9 half plate daguerreotype portraits of women.
