(Tarnishing along edges, spotting and some clouding throughout, a few areas of rubbing and a couple of noteworthy scratches.) Housed in a wall frame with some original backing remaining (portions of the back of the plate are visible and adhesive repair is abundant). Original paper label to frame verso identifies image to the British artist, "H.C. Booth, Photographist." -- Ambrotype portrait of an elderly man with a distinctive hairstyle and facial hair, holding a rather long, skinny pipe with some hand tinting. (Crackling to lacquer visible to lower portion, few spots of image loss; unsealed.) Housed in a leatherette case. -- Together, 2 likely European images of aged gentlemen whose features and expressions betray interesting personalities. Each between a quarter and half plate in size.
