Lot Description
Pair of Belgian Snap Bayonet Pistols
.50" Caliber. 4.6" barrel lengths. SN: NSN. Bright metal finish with checkered bag shaped grips and mounting triangular bladed snap bayonets. Pair of single shot percussion boxlock pistols mounting snap bayonets that are released by pulling back the inside of the triggerguard. Both items feature octagonal barrels with the lower left flat showing the ELG Belgian proof marking. Light floral engraving adorns both sides of the action with single line edge scroll. The barrels are two piece construction, and both of the mounting screws for the bayonet protrude into the bores.
This lot is located in Cincinnati.
Condition Report
Very Good. Bores are Frosty with some light pitting and a dark patina at the breech. The external metal finishes remain bright with mottled gray patina forming on the hammers and some flecked patina forming along the metal work overall. One pistol has a weak firing proof, and both show signs of the screws having been removed at some point. Grips show some light handling wear, scuffs and abrasions with small skips to the checkering on both, and a flattened spot to one handgun. The snap bayonets and the actions remain functional.
