Lot Description
** Erfurt P.08 Luger Dated 1917 with Matching Numbers and Martial Markings

9mm Para. 3.9" barrel length. SN: 5808o. Blued metal finish with straw and niter blued small parts mounting checkered walnut grip panels. Striker action short recoil operated toggle locking autoloading pistol fed by detachable single stack magazines. The toggle link displays the {Crown/ERFURT} manufacturer marking with the barrel extension dated 1917. Barrel gauge reads 8,83, and the item features numerous World War I Imperial German inspection marks including the {Reichsadler} marking on the right barrel, barrel extension, and on the left side of the breechblock. Gothic letter inspection stamps appear on all numbered parts including the grip panels. Serial numbers match where visible. Item has a non numbered firing pin, and comes with a non matching magazine with serial number 8616l struck into a wood baseplug.

Condition Report

Good. Bore is Frosty with patches of oxidation forming over the lands and some pinpoint pitting. The metal finish has edge and muzzle wear, with the finish worn off in a streak on the left barrel. Item further shows some patched losses along the toggle links, and a gray patina dominating over the straw colored components. Some light pitting visible at the flanks of the muzzle and on the upper edges of the breechblock. Gripstraps are a brown patina. Grips show wear to the checkering particularly near the butt with scattered dings, mars, and scratches. The magazine is a mottled gray to brown patina with a refinished base plug. Trigger moves with difficulty suggesting the spring has slipped out of place.
