Lot Description
** Winchester Model 1895 Carbine in .30-03
.30-03. 21.75" barrel length. SN: 70731. Nickel plated refinish overall with straight wrist walnut stock, Schnabel forend, and hardrubber WINCHESTER marked shotgun style buttplate. Lever action internal magazine fed repeating rifle featuring a box magazine and the capacity to utilize smokeless powder. The sights consist of a dovetail front bead sight with the rear sight composed of folding V notches graduated from 100 to 400 yards. Left receiver shows a two line manufacturer address and patent mark with the patents ranging from 1895 to 1907. The barrel shows Winchester firing proof mark, the caliber mark, and NICKEL STEEL BARREL/ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER behind rear sight. The left comb has been hand marked KH-24-3-27-Vitinoini.

Condition Report
Good as Refinished. Bore is Frosty with pinpoint pitting throughout. The renickel finish is flaking on the muzzle, the magazine body, and on the edges of the lever. Some thinning to the finish on the edges of the upper receiver, further losses on the tangs. The rear sight is taking on a brown patina. Furniture shows scattered mars and dings with dark discolorations. There are chips to the wrist of the stock on the right and left side just behind the frame.
