.22 Short. 24" barrel length. SN: 608939. (Mfg. ca.1918) Blued metal finish with flat-wrist walnut stock mounting a crescent buttplate and corncob forend. Slide-action repeating rifle fed by a magazine tube located beneath the barrel. Item mounts an octagonal barrel with rear notch sight screw adjustable for elevation and a dovetailed front blade. The markings include the TRADE MARK/WINCHESTER/REG.U.S.PAT.OFF.&FGN. to the tang, and displays further patent and model marks on the upper left barrel flat followed by the caliber marking.
Good. Bore is Bright with crisp rifling throughout. External metal finish is a brown patina overall with some traces of blue remaining on the underside of the barrel and in the seams. The wood furniture displays some light mars and dings scattered over the butt, and some discolorations and mars to the forend.
