Lock marked U.S./NORWICH and with a {Spread-Winged Eagle} forward of the hammer and dated 1863 at the tail. Breech with no visible date. Left angled breech flat with weak V/P/{Eagle Head} proofs. No visible cartouche on the stock flat. The rifle musket retains the correct 1861 pattern leaf rear sight, the combination musket front sight and socket bayonet lug, both sling swivels and a full-length swelled-shank tulip head ramrod. Also included are a partial period musket sling and a reproduction tompion.
