** Russian Captured Mauser S/42-Code K98k Rifle
World War II
7.92x57mm Mauser. 24" barrel length. SN: 5906H. Dark re-arsenal blue finish. Walnut stock has plain semi pistol grip and forearm, with single barrel band and re-arsenal shellac finish. Bolt action rifle with adjustable tangent rear sight and blade front sight. Item features an internal box magazine, bayonet lug forend, cleaning rod, takedown discs, and a leather sling. Receiver has been struck with an X. Markings include S/42 and 1937 to top of receiver, as well three {eagle}/63 marks to right of receiver, and an {eagle} followed by serial number to left side of receiver. Barrel is marked with an {eagle} followed by serial number on left side. Small parts on this item all appear to have mismatched serial numbers and proof marks. Stock is marked with serial number 5906. Includes an M1884/98 bayonet with a 9.75" blade, signed DüRKOPP/37, with mismatched serial numbers.

Condition Report
Good as arsenal refurbish. Bore is frosty and has residue to rifling, possibly cosmoline. Finish shows pitting and light scratches overall. Wood stock has flaking losses to shellac arsenal finish, scratches, and mars overall. Bayonet is in good condition, with some light scratches and loss to finish on blade.
