9 featuring Union Generals or prominent Union soldiers. -- 3 deriding British or Northern support for the Confederacy. -- 4 featuring Zouaves, including 3 examples (in both red and black) of The New Zouave Drill showing acrobatic Zouaves creating a gallows and a hanged secessionist. -- 24 with anti-Confederacy/secessionist themes. -- 40 patriotic, pro-Union, and pro-Constitution covers. -- Together, 80 covers, most approx. 5 1/4 x 3 in., condition generally very good with expected toning and occasional soiling.
