A collection of 24 Civil War buttons representing every branch of the Union Army displayed in decorative frame.
24 Union Army buttons arranged in a star pattern, housed in gilt frame, 22 1/2 x 16 1/2 in. Assembled and framed by James Frasca in the 1970s. The collection is comprised of examples of cuff and coat buttons for every branch of the Army including Infantry, Artillery, Cavalry, Rifleman, Dragoon, General Service, Staff Officer, Engineers, Sharpshooters, Topographical Engineers, and Ordinance Corps (all buttons have shanks and are non-dug). Each button is listed below with the Tice button book classification code in italics:
