Civil War Smith patent colonel of cavalry shoulder straps.
4 x 1 1/2 in. colonel of cavalry straps (surface wear, darkening and some loss to yellow wool felt centers, lacking Smith's patent label though some remnants remain). Straps feature stamped brass high relief borders, silvered stamped brass eagles, golden yellow wool felt centers, and dark blue "jean cloth" backing.
