Lot Description

[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. Half plate outdoor daguerreotype of an Italianate house. 

Half plate daguerreotype, 5 3/4 x 4 1/2 in. (Some solarization to plate, slight tarnish to edges.) Sealed with gold tape under cover glass and 7 1/4 x 6 in. mat. Later seal on reverse side of plate is inscribed in pencil, "Restored by A.R. Phillips, Jr. May 1943."
