[NUMISMATICS]. French currency dating from the French Revolution and beyond.
7 French assignats (paper bills), which were issued by France between 1789 and 1796, during the French Revolution (1789-1799). The bills range in size from 2 1/2 x 3 in. to 5 1/2 x 9 in., and include the following denominations: 10 sols, 5 livres (2), 25 livres, 50 livres, 100 francs, and 200 francs (toning, occasional soiling, some with adhesive repairs, folds, wear consistent with age and use).
[With:] 3 blank checks issued by the "Cashier of the Bank of North America." Philadelphia, 179[?] (toning, edge and corner wear). -- One shilling and three pence, Virginia (toning, significant wear). -- Banco Central Do Brasil, 100 cem cruzeiros (heavy wear). -- Da Afghanistan Bank, 1000 Afghanis. -- Republic of Croatia, 100,000 dinara. -- Bank of Communications, Republic of China, five yuan.
