Lot Description
[CIVIL WAR]. Quarter plate tintype portrait of a soldier wearing a stable frock.
Full standing poprtrait of a soldier with a very thick bear and mustache wearing a kepi or forage cap and a stable frock. His cheeks are lightly tinted pink and he stands next to a studio pillar and floral curtain with large rope tassels. It appears as though he is making a gesture with his hand, of which two fingers are extended. (Some bending/creasing and surface scratching to plate, image with softer focus at center though subject's face and curtain are shown in sharp detail.) Housed only under a mat with corners bent to secure image.
This lot is located in Cincinnati.
