Lot Description
[MILITARIA]. 2 sixth plate tintypes of men with revolvers, incl. Colt Pocket Police revolver.
Sixth plate tintype of a man wearing civilian clothing holding two hand guns crossed against his chest. The guns are likely props, as both have features missing, one being a Colt Army and the other an unidentified revolver. (Surface crackling, spotting, soiling/discoloration; unsealed.) Housed in a Union case with bird and flower motif (nicking). -- Sixth plate tintype of a young man wearing civilian clothing and a wide-brimmed hat, holding an uncommon 1862 Colt Pocket Police revolver. He wears a detachable collar and an 1851 sword belt plate. (Image rather dark, with some surface mottling and abrasions/imperfections; unsealed.) Housed in a half pressed paper case. -- Together, 2 sixth plate tintype portraits of armed men.
This lot is located in Cincinnati.
