A collection comprised of more than 100 newspapers printed throughout the United States, containing reports involving politics and conflict in the United States and beyond, ca late 18th century through late 19th century.

The following newspaper publications are represented: The Pennsylvania Packet, and Daily Advertiser, Philadelphia, PA (1788). -- Essex Register, Salem, MA (1809). 22 February 1809 issue containing address to Thomas Jefferson from the citizens of Philadelphia, along with the President's response. -- The Morning Post, and Daily Advertiser, New York (1789). 12 December 1789 issue containing advertisement for the sale of a "Negro Man" on last page (heavy wear, including partial separation near folds, edge wear). -- The Weekly Messenger, Boston, MA (1814). -- Kendall's Expositor, Washington (1840s). -- Christian Advocate and Journal, New York, NY (1820s-1830s). -- Cincinnati Daily Gazette, Cincinnati, OH (1860s). -- Daily Missouri Democrat, St. Louis, MO (1860s). -- The Dollar Newspaper, Philadelphia, PA (1860s). -- Helena Daily Herald, Helena, MT (1880s). -- Puget Sound Daily Courier, Olympia, Washington Territory (1870s). -- The Log Cabin, New York, NY (1840s). -- Forney's War Press, Philadelphia, PA (1860s). -- National Gazette Literary Register, Philadelphia, PA (1831). 20 August 1831 issue in which "The Last Moments of Washington" are described. -- Bodie Standard News, Bodie, CA (1880s). -- The Evening Bulletin, San Francisco, CA (1856, 1863). -- Daily State Journal, Austin, TX (1870s). -- Denison Daily News, Denison, TX (1870s). -- American Anti-Slavery Almanac for 1843 (only portion of front cover present, significant wear). -- And others.

[With:] Courrier Des Etats-Unis. New York, NY. Partial volume, (approx. 17 x 12 in.) containing issues dating from March-August 1847, printed in French. Accompanied by partial, bound group of issues dating from March-May 1849, printed in French (toning, soiling, wear throughout, chipping, tearing, and some loss to edges; issues lack covers, but remnants of binding present). -- New-York Weekly Tribune. New York, NY. Partial volume (21 x 15 1/2 in.) containing issues dating from July 1845-May 1846 (toning, soiling, wear throughout, chipping and creasing to edges).

Together, more than 100 newspapers accompanied by partial volumes of the Courrier Des Etats-Unis and New-York Weekly Tribune. Condition good to poor, with toning, occasional soiling, chipping, tearing, brittleness, and loss, areas of partial and full separation.
