Lot Description
US Model 1860 Naval Cutlass with Scabbard
American Civil War
26" slightly curved single edged blade with 18" unstopped medial fuller. Blade 1.125" wide at ricasso. 32" in overall length. 5.5" hilt with brass half-basket guard and leather covered grooved wood grip with 18 wraps of twisted wire. Blade unmarked, no inspections visible on the blade or pommel cap. No rack or serial numbers present on the guard. Includes a correct pattern leather scabbard with brass frog button on the face and 39 copper rivets closing the rear seam.

Condition Report
Good. Blade a dull steel patina with scattered surface oxidation and discoloration. Metal with some scattered surface roughness as well. Guard with a medium golden patina. Leather wrap with some wear, wire in place. Scabbard with moderate wear and some weakness, leather with moderate finish loss, rivets tight and intact.
